I intend to give meaning to viewers and students with a style that focuses on Documentary and Fine Art. Not every feeling or thought we have black or white.
I see people think for themselves. Daily, I see people speak and view things freely; whether perfect or not, I see that perfection doesn’t exist. But people try very hard to achieve it.
Unlike art, where some perfection is expected, it’s not my intention for that in my work. I want my images to give the viewer something in life they’ve never seen so closely. I want them to see real life.
It’s interesting where life takes a photographer’s technique over time, even in the most practical way. Studying Photojournalism and a side gig photographing children became the premise of something unrealized.
Splitting my experience between two styles, I used much of my time seeing the shuttle moments and events that go by too quickly—simultaneously trying to make sense of it all, aiming for the perfect image.
I spent much of my time editing in-camera from the beginning, looking for the right moments. Purposely, spending less time editing on the computer, in most cases, limiting editing to brightness and contrast. These are some of the techniques I carried out studying Photojournalism.
My images are simple moments that can be seen in gestures with simple editing—resulting in a timeless style.
